You have the power of influence. Do you talk about the importance of breastfeeding?

• Many decisions are made by families during the prenatal period and even before they are pregnant.
• As a prenatal health professional you have a great amount of influence on your client’s decision to breastfeed. This can have great impact on a woman, a child and future generations.
• Most women (95%) can breastfeed successfully with the support of her healthcare professional and support system. The role of the healthcare professional is to EMPOWER.
• Encourage families to access community support services before and after baby’s arrival (many mothers have never seen breastfeeding before).
• All are welcome to visit the support groups. Learn about the importance mother-to-mother support.
